RÉSOLUTION des Nations Unies (A/C.3/58/L.46) - Commission sociale

New York, le 18 novembre 2003 - 2003/11/18

The United Nations (UN) General Assembly adopted a resolution proposed by its Third Committee (Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural), and urges “all states to immediately ensure that their political and legal systems reflect the multicultural diversity within their societies and, where necessary, to improve democratic institutions to make them more fully participatory, and avoid marginalizing and excluding certain sectors of society as well as discrimination against them.” This resolution engages states, international organizations, and United Nations agencies, and calls on civil society, including non-governmental organizations, to “recognize and promote respect for cultural diversity for the purpose of advancing the objectives of peace, development, and universally accepted human rights.” ( Available in French and English only )
