La diversité culturelle et la coopération entre l’organisation des Nations Unies (ONU) et l’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF)

Assemblée générale des Nations Unies, New York, le 8 novembre 2004 - 2004/11/08

At its 50th plenary session, the UN General Assembly adopted a series of resolutions on cooperation between the United Nations and a number of regional organizations, including OIF. The General Assembly “expressed its gratitude” to OIF for its initiatives in favor of cultural and linguistic diversity and the dialog of cultures and civilizations, and called upon the UN secretary-general to act in consultation with the OIF secretary-general to continue promoting cooperation between the two organizations. Lebanon’s representative to the United Nations, who presented the draft resolution on UN/OIF cooperation, asserted that this document reflected the importance of regional cooperation in multilateral relations, the establishment and development of democracy, as well as the dialog of cultures and respect for cultural and linguistic diversity.
