Monique Gagnon-Tremblay delivered a positive report on her mission to New York City and Washington, D.C., from May 17 to 20. During the mission, oriented primarily toward security issues, Ms Gagnon-Tremblay also presented Québec government orientations on cultural diversity at a meeting at the State Department. It was agreed that experts from Québec and the U.S. would exchange views to better assess the impact of their governments’ respective official positions. Ms Gagnon-Tremblay also discussed this issue in New York with Mr. Rachid Bouabib, the permanent representative of the International Organization of the Francophonie to the UN, and with the assistant secretary general of the Organization of American States in Washington, Ambassador Luigi R. Einaudi. (Available in French)
