Cultural diversity is one of the central objectives of Ms. Gagnon-Tremblay’s official visit to Senegal and Burkina Faso, March 1-5 of this year. Ms. Gagnon-Tremblay and Senagalese President Abdoulaye Wade tackled the issue of preparations for the next Francophonie Summit, which will take place this November in Burkina Faso and will include cultural diversity on its agenda. Discussions with Burkinabe representatives will also involve preparations and the set of themes for the Summit and Quebec’s organizational support in Ouagadougou. In addition, Ms. Gagnon-Tremblay will meet with Burkina Faso’s Minister of Artistic Culture and Tourism, Mahamoudou Ouédraogo, to discuss cultural diversity and Burkina Faso Cultural Week, which will take place in Quebec this April.
