Xe Sommet de la Francophonie : Le Vietnam soutient le projet de Convention de l'UNESCO sur la diversité des expressions culturelles et s'engage en faveur de son adoption - le 2 décembre 2004

The Heads of State and government of the Member States of La Francophonie were brought together the 26 and 27 last November in Ouagadougou ( Burkina Faso ) to discuss the work, orientation and future of La Francophonie. Head of the delegation, Ms. Truong My Hoa, the Vice President of Vietnam, stressed during the inaugural ceremony that " Vietnam highly appreciates the theme of our summit, one which not only expresses a strategic vision of a global problem, but also a current problem facing our Community, and responds to the needs of the populations of our member countries." She stated, " Vietnam supports the dialogue between cultures and civilizations, the creation of a International Convention on cultural diversity and is doing its utmost in contributing to its adoption by UNESCO at the end of 2005."
