African Week ends at the European Parliament

On September 11, 2008, a debate on intercultural dialog around the world was the main political event of African week. “Parliament’s president Pöttering evoked European integration as ‘an example for all countries in the world’ and as a positive force for improving dialog between cultures.” Commission president José Manuel Barroso and president of the Pan African Parliament Gertrude Mongella also spoke.

Organized as part of the European Year of Intercultural Dialog, African Week ran from September 8 to 12, 2008.
