Established in 1992, the Thami Mnyele Foundation runs a unique three month artists-in-residence program in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The main objective of the Foundation is to promote cultural exchange between artists from Africa and the Netherlands, particularly in Amsterdam.
To this end, the Foundation engages African artists of all disciplines of contemporary visual art (painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, video, film, audio and multimedia) to work for three months in the Thami Mnyele Foundation studio, located in an old school building in the heart of Amsterdam. The Thami Mnyele Foundation artists-in-residence-program is therefore an ideal opportunity for focusing on work, reflection, research and discussion.
Artists from Africa or Diaspora at all stages of their careers are encouraged to apply. Equal consideration will be given to emerging and established artists.
Applications must be received by June 24, 2011, at 4 p.m.
