In a news article published on March 4, 2008, the Council of Europe announced that the ninth edition of the Compendium of Cultural Policies and Trends in Europe is now online. Armenia and the Slovak Republic have joined the Compendium, bringing the number of participating countries to 41.
The new edition of the permanently updated information and monitoring system includes a host of new features. According to the Council of Europe, one of the most prominent additions is more detailed individual country profiles. “For each profile, the Partner Resources section offers links to relevant national information on the website of IFACCA (International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies), the LabforCulture, and the European Heritage Network.” The Council adds that “the entry page features a Topic in Focus on currently debated themes, such as “Creativity, Creative industries,” providing a common access to issues related to the topic.”
