Cinquante ans après. Culture, politique et politiques culturelles (Fifty years later. Culture, politics, and cultural policies) was recently published. This reference follows up on the symposium organized in October 2009 for the 50th anniversary of the French Ministry of Culture and Communications.
The Ministry website notes, "On the 50th anniversary of its inception, the French Ministry of Culture—one of the first of its kind in Europe—takes a look at its role today. It does so by comparing its own experience with that of its counterparts in various developed countries and in light of an increasingly globalized society, European ambition, technological upheavals, and the broadened scope of heritage."
The work is published by La documentation française, edited by Elie Barnavi, former Israeli ambassador to France, and Maryvonne de Saint Pulgent, chair of the Ministry's History Committee.
