First issue of "IFCD e-update"

The Secretariat of the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions just published the first issue of a series of four updates on the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD).

Every month from September to December 2012, three projects supported by IFCD will be presented, along with Fund news and partner viewpoints.

Entitled "Supporting the development of skills," the September 2012 edition describes the results of projects set up in Argentina, Benin, and the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

The International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) is a multi-donor Fund established under Article 18 of the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. Its purpose is to promote sustainable development and poverty reduction in order to foster the emergence of a dynamic cultural sector in developing countries that are Parties to the Convention. The IFCD is currently implementing 48 projects from 36 developing countries.
