Presses universitaires de Liège has just released Gouvernance mondiale et culture - De l'exception à la diversité (Global Governance and Culture - From Exception to Diversity).
Author Antonios Vlassis, a research assistant with the National Scientific Research Fund (NSRF) at the Center for International Relations Studies (CEFIR) of the University of Liège and an associate member of Centre d'études sur l'intégration et la mondialisation (CEIM), Université du Québec à Montréal, summarizes the work as follows:
« This book is on the political process of constructing a new normative framework like the Convention on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions and discusses how we have gone from cultural exception to cultural diversity and why we need a major international instrument of global governance in culture. What has changed? How significant is it? How far-reaching? Where has this normative framework come from? Why, how, and under what conditions? »
