Diversité culturelle, identités et mondialisation. De la ratification à la mise en œuvre de la convention sur la diversité culturelle, edited by Guy Lachapelle

Les Presses de l’Université Laval has announced the publication of Diversité culturelle, identités et mondialisation. De la ratification à la mise en œuvre de la convention sur la diversité culturelle, edited by Guy Lachapelle.

With the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions now in effect, the publisher states that the book’s main objective is to examine the issues surrounding ratification of this convention and which will affect its implementation.

According to Les Presses de l’Université Laval, the ideas in the text were presented at an International Political Science symposium held in Montréal in the fall of 2006 “in order to evaluate what has been accomplished since the initial suggestion to create a document bringing together certain rules aimed at protecting national or regional cultures against the commoditization of cultural products and to examine the outlook for the future once the convention has been adopted.”

The following people contributed to this work: Anja Brunner, Jacques Chagnon, John Coakley, Lydia Deloumeaux, Ahmed Djoghlaf, Clément Duhaime, Cem Utku Duyulmus, Gilbert Gagné, Jacinthe Gagnon, Micheline Labelle, Guy Lachapelle, Jean Laponce, Justine Boulais Laurier, Bruno Maltais, Jacques Paquette, Stéphane Paquin, Anne-Marie Robert, and Nina Beatriz Stocco Ranieri.

This book can be ordered online from the Presses de l’Université Laval website.
