An editorial by Canada’s Coalition for Cultural Diversity restates the need to promote Convention goals in other international arenas

Canada’s Coalition for Cultural Diversity has just published the October issue of its Coalition Currents newsletter. The issue takes the form of a seven-page editorial devoted to decisions made by the Conference of Parties regarding the implementation of articles 20 and 21 of the Convention.

In the editorial the Coalition ponders the Conference’s silence over the implementation of Article 21 of the Convention on the one hand and, after commenting on various reasons behind the silence, expresses its desire to see the Intergovernmental Committee move to promote the Convention’s objectives and principles in other international arenas, as Article 23.6(e) allows it, and indeed calls upon it, to do.
