Observatoire de la culture et des communications du Québec (OCCQ) recently published the eleventh volume in the “État des lieux du patrimoine, des institutions muséales et des archives” series. The observatory describes the series as follows:
“Put together by Institut de la statistique du Québec with the help of numerous specialists, ‘État des lieux du patrimoine, des institutions muséales et des archives’ is an eleven-volume series that takes a detailed look at this important cultural field. The first volumes look at the financial situation and human resources of organizations and institutions in the field’s three sectors, followed by several volumes examining their heritage, museum, and archival activities. The series continues with a regional overview, a look at user and visitor practices, and a description of the important role played by the field in Québec’s economy. Volume 11, which rounds out the series, presents a summary of the results outlined in the ten other volumes, along with a conclusion.”
Since OCCQ began its activities in 2000, it has shown its desire to take stock of every field in the domain of culture and communications in publications that provide statistical portraits of all key aspects of a given sector. This publication dovetails with this approach.
The volumes in the “État des lieux du patrimoine, des institutions muséales et des archives” series are available on the OCCQ website.
