The International Federation of Coalitions for Cultural Diversity (IFCCD) has announced that the German Coalition for Cultural Diversity white paper entitled “Shaping Cultural Diversity” is now available in English.
“This white paper … was compiled by more than sixty experts from the fields of culture or development. It contains recommendations for action addressed to the decision-makers and stakeholders bearing political responsibility for the protection and promotion of the diversity of cultural expressions. It includes six thematic chapters: the Political Dimension of Cultural Diversity, Microcosms of Cultural Diversity, Fair Culture, Creativity and Innovation, Diversity in the World of Digital Media, and Arts Education for Cultural Diversity.
This initiative follows two similar projects initiated by coalitions for cultural diversity for the implementation of the UNESCO Convention on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions: the white paper by Switzerland’s Coalition for Cultural Diversity—‘Cultural Diversity – More Than a Slogan!’—launched in Bern on October 16, 2009, and the French Coalition for Cultural Diversity study entitled ‘Les politiques culturelles en France,’ which outlines the principal policies in support of the various creative sectors existing in France from the perspective of cultural professionals active in the sectors in question.”
The English and German versions of the “Shaping Cultural Diversity” white paper are available on the UNESCO website.
