Through its online portal, culture360.org, the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) has made available 20 guides on mobility funding opportunities for international cultural exchange in 18 Asian ASEM (Asia Europe Meeting) countries: Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam. Two additional guides are also available, one focusing on Asia and the other on funding opportunities open to any nationality.
The main objectives of this initiative are to make information on international mobility funding for Asian artists and cultural operators available online, in a transparent way, and to provide input to funders on how to fill in the existing gaps in funding for international cultural exchange in Asia. The research was conducted with the cooperation of the Korea Arts Management Service (KAMS), Japan Center, Pacific Basin Arts Communication (PARC), Tokyo Performing Arts Market (TPAM) and Arts Network Asia (ANA).
Produced on the model of the Guide to funding opportunities for the international mobility of artists and culture professionals in Europe, these guides list national resources, when available, and regional and international sources of funding – be they public or private. Only regular opportunities accessible online are listed.
