At the request of the European Commission, the Media Consulting Group conducted an independent study on business models in the audiovisual sector.
This study provides an overview of new business models from the digital economy created for the purpose of promoting and distributing audiovisual works. It examines how these new business models could boost the circulation of European works. The models are evaluated based on a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis. Based on this overview, a prospective and qualitative analysis of the most relevant and promising business models is presented.
