Brochure on the International Fund for Cultural Diversity

UNESCO recently put online a brochure on the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) of the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.

Entitled "International Fund for Cultural Diversity. Investing in creativity. Transforming societies," this publication highlights some of the most exciting successes of the IFCD to date. Moreover, it is a compilation of stories about IFCD-funded projects, which are divided into four categories: building environments that support creativity, fostering skills development, developing market access, and regional cooperation.

Since 2010, thanks to its donors, the IFCD has financed 48 projects across 36 developing countries, for a total of some US$3 million. In this regard the brochure is aimed at the IFCD public and private partners that have played a key role in the fund’s success.

The International Fund for Cultural Diversity is a voluntary multidonor fund that seeks to promote sustainable development cooperation and reduce poverty to help foster a vibrant culture industry in developing countries. IFCD resources come from voluntary contributions from Parties and other states, regional and international organizations, public and private bodies, and individuals.
