On June 24, Patrick Bloche, president of the Commission of Cultural Affairs and Education, tabled a report with France’s National Assembly that concludes an information mission on the Convention’s 10 years in existence. The goal of the mission was to take stock of the diversity of cultural expressions in the world and the actions taken to implement the Convention.
The report highlights the role of France, as well as other Parties including Québec and Canada in promoting the diversity of cultural expressions, and gives an account of the Convention’s impact and its contribution to sustainable development in Southern countries. Lastly, the report looks at the diversity of cultural expressions in the digital age.
