On November 17, 2016, the UNESCO Chair on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions was launched at Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, and Professor Véronique Guèvremont was named the chairholder. During the evening, the director and CEO of the Canada Council for the Arts, Simon Brault, gave a talk on “Creating a progressive and public digital shift.”
The launch was followed on November 18 by the chair’s first event at Université Laval. Organized in cooperation with Centre d’études sur les médias, a conference on the “Future of culture in the digital age and government challenges” brought experts and members of the community together.
