Once again, Journées de la culture spurred a remarkable cultural upwelling in all of Québec’s regions. This event, now in its 13th year, took place on September 25–27.
Since 1997, Les Journées de la culture have been celebrating and contributing to the democratization of culture in Quebec, with free participatory activities to help citizens discover and appreciate the arts and culture. The three-day event, the only one of its kind in the Americas, takes place at the end of September each year and highlights the essential role of the arts and culture in the development of both individuals and society.
“Les Journées de la culture are organized by Culture pour tous and are made possible thanks to the over 8,000 artists and cultural organizations that offer Quebecers thousands of activities and encounters with artists or cultural workers. The event also depends on the help of numerous business and media partners to conduct a huge promotional campaign each year” notes the Culture pour tous website. For more information on these activities, visit the Journées de la culture website (available in English).
