France and South Africa recently signed a first coproduction agreement. “This agreement puts in place a funding system for films coproduced by the two countries. The agreement goes along with the renewal of the cultural cooperation program for 2010–2020. It will bolster exchanges in the visual and plastic arts, heritage, cultural industries, and—for the first time—digitization. This new rapport is an indication of our desire to develop cultural relations between the two countries,” noted France’s Ministry of Culture and Communication.
