The annual meeting of experts and editors of the Compendium of Cultural Policies and Trends in Europe (Council of Europe/ERICarts) will run from June 8 to 10, 2011, at the Vooruit arts center in Ghent, Belgium. In conjunction with the AMATEO network and a number of scientific institutions, the meeting will be combined with a public forum and research workshops on active cultural participation in Europe.
Organizers intend to take advantage of the annual meeting of experts from the Compendium and the AMATEO general assembly to team with scientific and cultural partners in exploring issues related to the active cultural participation of different population groups across Europe as well as to related policies, including but not limited to arts education, social and cultural programs for different generations and other target groups, and integration policies. Strategies for collecting and interpreting comparative data will be also discussed in the aim of improving the content of the Compendium information system and facilitating future pan-European research efforts in this area.
