On May 10–13, the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) launched a program to survey the field of cultural enterprise and industry (ICIC) in Gabon.
OIF took this opportunity to hold meetings with the various parties concerned (national authorities, cultural companies and professionals, etc.) and provide information on the working plan. It also put in place a team of consultants to carry out the survey and collect the data.
The ICIC program is part of OIF efforts aimed at helping Member states from the South to get a clearer picture of their cultural companies and industries in order to eventually create a national information system on the culture economy. The program covers the following geographic areas and countries: Southeast Asia ( Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos), Caribbean-Pacific ( Saint Lucia, Dominica, Haiti), Western Africa ( Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal), and Central Africa ( Cameroon, Congo, Gabon).
