Arterial Network organizes a theater company management internship in Niamey

Arterial Network is organizing a theater company management internship to be held June 6–25, 2011, in Niamey as part of its program to support Nigerian theater as well as the fifth edition of the Émergences theater festival.

The goal of this theater company management internship is to give existing and future theater companies the skills and abilities required to handle their day-to-day management, meet their administrative needs, and develop their activities in the world of professional francophone theater. The internship is intended for people who handle or are intending to handle administrative duties in Nigerian theater troupes and companies. Ten interns will be selected from a group of candidates whose applications will be submitted by theater companies. These ten people will take part in training sessions held by professionals from the field of live performance and by specialists.

The internship is being organized in large part by the French Embassy in Niger, the Nigerian Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Culture, and UNESCO's International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD). Funding for this project is being provided as part of the pilot phase of the IFCD and was approved at the 4th Ordinary Session of the Intergovernmental Committee of UNESCO's Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
