Équation Musique 2011 : Three artists on tour in Europe

The Institut français and the International Organization of la Francophonie (OIF) joined forces in 2008 to create Équation Musique, a program supporting the music industry in the Southern hemisphere. The partnership seeks to help these countries break into the professional marketplace, promote their events and get their artists and music into international circuits.

During Équation Musique in June 2011, Institut français and the OIF provided support for three emerging artists on a tour of Europe ( Germany, Italy, England, Romania, and France) professionally produced through the program. The artists were Wanlov the Kubolor of Ghana, with his afro gypsy music; Winyo of Kenya, an acoustic folk artist; and BéIO of Haiti, a pioneer of the ragganga style.

More information about the tour and the Équation Musique program is available in French on the Institut français and OIF websites.
