Nordic country culture ministers met for a roundtable in Helsinki on May 2 to celebrate World Press Freedom Day, where they issued their “Declaration on Promoting Diversity of Cultural Expressions and Artistic Freedom in a Digital Age”. The declaration calls on the international community to enhance global monitoring in Convention-related areas such as artistic freedom, gender equality, civil society participation, and the challenges of the digital age. Roundtable discussions covered such topics as the power of the diversity of cultural expressions in the promotion of human rights and dignity, jobs, income, and gender equality.
