The Third Meeting of Pacific Ministers for Culture took place on May 25 in Hagåtña, Guam, during the 12th Festival of Pacific Arts and Culture and was attended by 25 culture ministers and senior officials. The resulting Declaration of the Third Meeting of Pacific Ministers for Culture includes a call for countries to support cultural industries by ratifying the Convention. At the meeting Fiji, the Solomon Islands, Tonga, and Tuvalu all committed themselves to ratifying the Convention in the near future. The meeting also included the launch by Danielle Cliche of her Re│Shaping Cultural Policies, the first global report on the Convention. Her remarks highlighted the common challenges faced by decision-makers world-wide, as well as strategies the Pacific island nations might look to in overcoming them.
