Cultural policies and measures - Best practices

Testimonies from 12 countries on fundamental freedoms and the diversity of cultural expressions

A video showing the testimonies of government and civil society stakeholders from developing countries was recently released. These people are involved in defining and monitoring policies.

The eight-minute video was made in cooperation with the following UNESCO offices:

  • Cambodia (Phnom Penh)
  • Colombia (Bogota)
  • Cuba (Havana)
  • Ethiopia (Addis Ababa)
  • Indonesia (Jakarta)
  • Kenya (Nairobi)
  • Morocco (Rabat)
  • Senegal (Dakar)
  • Vietnam (Hanoi)
  • Zimbabwe (Harare)

The initiative is part of the Enhancing Fundamental Freedoms through the Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions project. It aims to reinforce individual and institutional capacity in 12 developing countries in order to improve their cultural governance systems. The Convention Secretariat has carried out this project since 2015 thanks to support from the Swedish government.
