Call for Proposals

UNESCO Convention on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions in the Digital Age

Proposals are currently being accepted for a work on the UNESCO Convention on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions in the Digital Age.

The book will be published jointly by University of Rouen’s Centre universitaire rouennais d’études juridiques (France) and University of São Paulo’s Centro de Estudos Sociedade e Tecnologia (Brazil) in English, French, and Portuguese. It will feature participant contributions from two conferences on digital issues and new technologies, one to be held December 11, as well as articles selected by a scientific committee.

Conference proposals can address one or more of the following themes:

  • The digital situation (e.g., digital challenges and perspectives, new cultural products and services in the digital age, etc.);
  • The role of the state in the cultural market of the digital age (e.g., cultural policies in digital environment);
  • The contribution of private-sector stakeholders to the diversity of cultural expressions online (e.g., Internet giants and their role in promoting the diversity of cultural expressions);
  • International action and cooperation in promoting the diversity of cultural expressions on the Internet (e.g., technical mechanisms for promoting the online visibility of cultural expressions from developing countries).

To participate, send a 500-words abstract of the proposed article (in French, English, or Portuguese) no later than November 2, 2015, to CDEC_et_numérique@yahoo.fr.
