The ratification and implementation of the Convention continue!
Algeria, Belize, Mauritania, and Uganda have recently ratified the Convention, bringing the number of Parties to 139 (138 States and one regional economic integration organization).
In other news, the 5th ordinary session of the Conference of Parties to the Convention will be held from June 10 to 12, 2015, at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. We will keep a close eye on work at this meeting and keep you informed of the main results in the next edition of our newsletter.
Finally, on May 21 we celebrated World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. Find out more in our “Frequently Asked Questions” section, where we have added a new section on the UNESCO Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity, which refers to this special day.
