Convention ratification continues

Timor-Leste recently ratified the Convention. This addition brings the number of Parties to 145: 144 states and 1 regional economic integration organisation.

New goodwill ambassador for the Convention

On November 21, 2016, Deeyah Khan became UNESCO’s first ever Goodwill Ambassador for Artistic Freedom and Creativity. Ms. Khan has dedicated her life and work to promoting freedom of expression for artists and human rights through a variety of self-started initiatives and platforms. Ms. Khan will focus on artists’ socioeconomic rights, mobility, and creative freedom.
