Cultural diversity

Cultural policies and measures - Best practices

This section is an outgrowth of adoption of the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions by UNESCO on October 20, 2005. It is designed to help with implementation of the Convention through the exchange of information. It should be remembered that the Convention reaffirms the sovereign right of states to formulate and implement cultural policies and adopt measures to protect and promote the diversity of cultural expressions. The Cultural Policies and Measures - Best Practices section is intended to inform you on innovative culture policies and measures implemented locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally, notably in terms of production, dissemination, distribution, and access to cultural activities, goods, and services.
